Description

This learning bundle is ideal for those studying AOS 5 in the OCR A Level Music qualification (Specification H543) and forms a logical progression from the Introductory Learning Bundle.  The four resources in this bundle can be completed as stand-alone activities. However, together, and in the order presented, they create a coherent course of study building the skills and knowledge that will allow your students to write in detail about the music of Pictures at an Exhibition.

The Follow-On Bundle explores how the different elements of music evoke the programmatic ideas in this work.  All four resources (not just the “Essay Activity”) also focus on the process of actually writing about the music. Using examples from Pictures at an Exhibition your students will engage with challenging musical concepts, whilst developing specialist terminology, useful vocabulary and effective phraseology. They will also be encouraged to develop ideas and opinions (“evaluative and critical judgements” in exam-speak) about this groundbreaking work.  (A full description of the four resources as well as details of how you can purchase them individually is available here.)
